700R4 to T56
Im just about fed up of niggly little faults with any of the 700R4s ive had(GM,TCI,B&M) and i am thinking about a t56 conversion.
I have an 85 5.0tpi Transam with 3.73 rear.
Is the swop worth the effort.I will be using a new T56 (as used ones are impossible to find here in the UK)so linking up the speedo will be no problem. Will the car drive better, what about acceleration/fuel economy.
What clutch would be best for everyday driving?
Any feedback would be gratefully received
cheers

Definately worth it. Drivability will be great. Fuel economy probably wont change at much, but if it does, it will be better fuel economy on the highway.
Dont know about a clutch. Im still looking for a good one myself. Im running a stock one right now. Its starting to slip a little.

Please see the tech articles on this site, there is a good one on swapping a T56 into a thirdgen.
