3.08 open to 3.73 posi question....

Is a 3.08 considered a 2 or 3 series carrier?
and if I buy a posi 3 series unit with 3 series gears it should work right?

A stock 3.08 is a 2 series, although you can buy aftermarket 3.08s for 3 series carriers.

Yes, a 3 series carrier will match the 3 series ring and pinion.

Yep, use the 3 series gears with your posi (you got a 3 series, right?)

The reduction of price for the gears almost makes the SLP takeoff zexel posi cost only next to nothing...(it's on sale or was)

Damn axles are going to make up for that (i have an 88) but the increased splines can't hurt..
