Adjustable Clutch Master Cylinders

I'm looking into an adjustable MC. Mcleod's is a slightly larger diameter and you could run a braided hose to it easily. Ram has, what looks like, pretty much a stock replacement unit but with an adjustable rod for half the price. It looks as though you would have to run the stock style plastic hose with barbed fittings. Any pros and cons between these two?

Also, for a T5 setup, should I consider an ungraded aluminum slave (as far as I can see it offers no other features over the stock plastic one other than AN fitings) or replace the slave altogether with a hydraulic throw out bearing?

Thanks, for any insight and/or personal experience.

You should be able to use the 93-97 f-body braided steel line with either the Ram or McLeod m/c. The braided line is a vast improvement over the plastic one. Also, the aluminum slave is obviously much better than the plastic one. There's an aluminum slave available that's identical to the factory plastic slave. I got mine under the Brakeware brand name at a local parts store. The other nice thing about the aluminum replacement slave is the 93-97 braided line fits it, whereas it won't fit the stock, 3rd gen plastic slave. McLeod's adjustable m/c is intended for 4th gen cars, probably the same deal with the Ram unit, so there's a fitment issue where the clutch pedal pin goes through the eyelet. The 3rd gens use a thicker diameter pin, so you either have to drill out the eyelet slightly, or do what I did and knock out the original clutch pin and replace it with a smaller diameter pin. I used a standard brake pedal clevis pin, and it fits perfect, not to mention it has the slot in the end for a metal linkage clip. I never liked how the 3rd gen pushrod just snap-fits on the pin with that easily broken hard plastic bushing. In summary, if you go with the Ram or McLeod adjustable m/c, the 93-97 braided line, and an aluminum slave, you'll end up with the ultimate, factory style setup. Of course a hydrualic t/o bearing is a nice setup as well if you want to spend the money. I went with the McLeod m/c since I got a great deal on a brand new one here in the classifieds. If I had to pay full price from Summit, I'd probably opt for the Ram unit though since it's about half the cost.

Glad to help. Here's a pic of the 3rd gen aluminum slave equipped with the 93-97 braided line, and a couple of pics on how I modified the 3rd gen clutch pedal pin. Btw, I used a steel Hurst shifter bushing to get the new pin to press into the hole of the pedal nice and tight.
