great tires for drifting?
great tires for drifting?
Wasn't very sure what board to put this under...
What are some great Daily Driver street legal tires that are good for drifting?
What about these tires?

Your best bet is to get another set of wheels and put your drift tires on them. You won't want to do much on your daily tires if you want them to last, even at a novice level.
As much as I hate to say it, get some Kumhos or Falkens. Inexpensive tires that will last you a bit. My favorites are Pirellis, but they have a steep price tag.
Goodyears did nothing for me, they just cost a lot.
Unless you can get a good price or used I'd stay away from big money tires of any brand, you're just gonna burn them up.

Re: great tires for drifting?
i got my sumic tires for like $25/tire and you can pump them up to 52psi safely.
i dont drift intentionally, mostly just hooliganing around.
my only complaint with them is that they seem to create a TON of smoke and burnt rubber flakes all over the place... the smoke is good for drifting but the rubber on the fenders gets annoying after a while.
anyway
have fun

Re: great tires for drifting?
i should re phrase that, a friend got them for $25 or so each a while ago.
oh, and i forgot one thing.
you dont want to use them at all on the front tires. NO GRIP WHEN COLD. bad for drifting.

That's a good point, you will want a grippy front tire. My method is to pay a little more money for the front tires than the rears. They'll stay grippy for a good while and when they get bad, move them to the rear.

Re: great tires for drifting?
im telling you, some tires ive tried have no grip whatsoever.
you would think they were meant for drifting...
and this is normal driving (i dont drift)
look for the highest treadwear rating you can find i guess.
