Why does my transmission shift harder and take longer to shift when my engine is at 220*. The chek engine light comes on and there goes my transmission acting like this. Does this mean it is going out? My car is an 89 RS with a 305 tbi and the trans is a 700r4. Never been messed with. Engine got rebuilt last june. How do u know if it is going to mess up. Is there a tune up kit for a transmission acting like this?

Usually I hear of cold temps causing hard shifts and .....

Anyway since you are concerned and your transmission is still in good shifting order... Get a transmission cooler ASAP! The stock in the radiator deal is next to worthless on transmission life even for grandma going for grocerys in stop&go southwest traffic...

Get a tranny cooler for at least some piece of mind before it's too late.
