How much would u say this rear end is worth????
Some one i know offered to sell me a used rear end!!! Its dyna 44 with disc brakes don't know what the gears are but will find out soon!! Don't know much about rear ends how much do u think it is worth!!
I pay $1600 plus shipping new from Summit (heavy duty dana 44).....a year after that they had the same rear for $450....only difference was the gears...3.54-3.27

Axle/Gears: Ford 9"/31 spline spool/4.86
It's easier to find parts for the Dana44 than it is a 9 bolt. The Dana has 8.5 ring gear so It's the strongest diff offered by the factory for a third gen. Too bad they don't offer them any more. I think the original Canadian price was somewhere between $1500 and $2000. Considering that diff isn't new and you have no idea what kind of condistion the gears, carrier or axles are in, I'd say $750 or less would be a good deal.
You can get a complete 9" without the center section (dime a dozen anywhere) or brakes for about $1500 Canadian delivered to your door. So don't over pay for a Dana44. It's a nice diff if the price is right.
The Dana will have 10 bolts on the rear cover and a metal fill plug in the back cover.

I've got the SLP from Summit.....it comes with heavy duty discs brake brakets, but only for 89 and up.....I had to drill new holes on my stock 88 brakets.
