unless you have a rear dif cover with a drain plus you have to remove the rear dif cover. yes if you remove the rear dif cover you will need a new gasket

I was gonna ask this same question. I don't have the drain plug on mine. Draining it doesn't seem to be a problem, but how do I get oil back in it??????

I've never seen a rear diff with a drain. As far as filling it back up, there's a small plug on either the upper right or upper left side of the diff. It should be a square 3/8" or 1/2" drive "pipe plug" thing. Remove it. (Just make sure you lube it up with plenty of penetrating oil and let it set for a while or you'll pull a groin trying to get it off.) Pour the oil in until it reaches the level of the hole. Also, check a manual so you use the proper lube. Reinstall the plug and you're on your way.
