i have a 1991 firebird that has the wiring for an signal pick-up coil for the electronic speedo...but someone replaced the stock 700r with an earlier 700r which is a gear driven electronic speedo, needed to get my speedo hooked up i didnt know what would be the best route to go with this. Can i find a older car with the right wiring clip that i need for the gear driven speedo and splice with my wiring or will that not work? or do i need take off the tailshaft and switch all of that around? any help with be appreciated

Just replace the speedometer pickup, on the side of the tail housing, with an electronic VSS and the right gear. I have like 3 spares if ya need one.
so there is a electronic gear driven speedo with the right wiring clip that i need?

Yes you will need any 90-92 Camaro or Firebird vehicle speed sensor (VSS) from a 700R4. You'll also need the right plastic speedo gears to make the speedometer accurate. You can search this forum for more info on that.

I have 3 of them as spares, and a few different gears. Let me know. I work at a dealer, so I could get the gear you need at my cost if I don't have it already.Originally Posted by Kevin91Z
