Which way should I lock my TC????
Ok guys my car has been converted to a carburated car and the computer was taken out. I need to be able to lock up my TC. My question is what is the best route to take? Should i buy the kit that only locks the car in OD? Or should i buy a kit or figure a way that it locks in every gear besides first? For those of you that have done this which way do you prefer? just so you guys know i searched first and didn't find the answer that I wanted.

I like the TCI kit. It's fairly cheap at 70 bucks and includes most of the stuff you need(depending on what you want to do). I can flip the switch and it will lock in only 4th gear no matter what. Or flip a switch and have it lock in any gear but 1st. Or unlocked all the time. A cheaper way would be to wire it up so a switch would lock or unlock it whenever you wanted. The 4th gear option is nice when my wife is driving it.

If your car has some ***** to it, a much cheaper way would just be to hard wire the tcc to lockup in 4th gear all the time. All you need to do is drop the pan and locate the 4th gear pressure switch. Run this wire to one side of the tcc solnoid. Run the other side of the solnoid to the 'A' terminal (The inside of the electrical plug).
Then just run a switched ignition power wire to the 'A' terminal on the outside.
Cheap and effective. Works great with 350's or 305's with 3.73 or numerically higher gears only though since you need the bottom end torque to pull 4th locked up all the time.
