What year camaro is this rear end out of?

I just bought a 9 bolt rear end and was told it was out of an iroc. I ordered some calipers off of a 90 iroc and the bolt holes on the caliper are 4 inches apart while the mounting plate on the rear is 5inches apart. I checked the rear for numbers and i have these casting numbers.0578026901 6 731. if someone could give me auyear or something this rear came out of ide appreciate it. or any knowledge about the subject would help.

I think that might be the Borg Warner 9 bolt.

Straight from Camaro Tech Data (My new friend)

"All TPI 350 (1987-1992) Camaros had a tach with yellow at 5000 and red at 5500. They also all came with the Borg Warner 9 Bolt and 3.27's in 87 only, other years it was optional."

Can be found in 86's as well (But its reported there were only 50 of these and they were test cars).

My "guess" is that you have a 9-bolt with Delco-Moraine single-piston iron calipers and 10.5" rotors. A 90, however, with disc brakes would have been equipped with single-piston alum calipers (PBR's) and 11.7" rotors.

9 bolts were available from (Pontiac started in 86, Camaro started in 87) to 89. The 89 models got the PBR brakes. By 1990, the 9 bolt wasn't offered any more and the f-body just got the 10 bolt.

We need to update the camaro tech data then if the above is true, as it states (and I did above right from CTD) that it was optional THROUGH 92'.

Please verify. We dont need wrong informational data on TGO.

Re: What year camaro is this rear end out of?

The rear i have has no brakes on it at all, thats why i am asking to start with. Im pretty sure it was optional through 92 to get a 9bolt.I was told it was a borg warner. It must be out of an 87. because i orderd some calipers for a 90 iroc with performance package and the caliper bolts didnt line up. I orderd some calipers today off an 87 *fingers crossed* hope this works

The 9 bolt may have been optional up to 92 as an over the counter option but it wasn't offered on a production vehicle as an option after the 1989 model year.
