I'm in a bind because all thats left to do is seat the motor and tranny in the car is the tranny mount bar in the middle of the car. The problem is that the bar is too far ahead for my th400 the mount is past it and the oil pan is hitting it on the transmission. I need to know if i need a new tranny mount bar of what I'm spose to do. I believe i have a 5 in tail shaft.

 

you need a different crossmember. B&M and hurst make conversion kits for the th400, though i dont know with which tail shaft. Or yuou can get a crossmember torque arm setup from UMI or Spohn performance.
