How do you do this???

Hey all,

How exactly do you adjust the shifting linkage on a 91 bird. its automatic and it will not shift in to park all of the way??


please help, this is kinda scary for parking!

Car: 1986 Firebird
Engine: 2.8 V6
Transmission: 700R4
It should all be done from underneath the car... maybe the nut/bolt holding the cable to the transmissions's shift lever is loose. Or maybe you lost the transmission pan bolts that hold the linkage bracket to the trans (happened to me, good thing I was in my driveway!)
