clear up a dumb question

going to use transfixleo's tv cable adjustment technique, leo, you say to pull the cable back as hard as possible.. I assume you mean the black cable housing? or do you mean the cable going to the throttle body?

The housing. You push in the retaining thing, pull the housing out (away from the linkage) as far as possible, and then get in the car and floor it. That will pull it back in to the correct spot.
