Re: trans swap
you need to compare overall lengths of the 2, the TH350 was offered in 3 different overall lengths, and you may need a shorter or longer driveshaft.

Re: trans swap
yoke adapter? a TH350 with a 3.73:1 axle will accelerate like a 200-4R with 3.42:1 or a 700R-4 with 3.08:1, but you still get the horrible gas mileage of 3.73:1 but no overdrive and no lockup. You do have to run a kickdown cable. The TV cable from a 700R-4 will NOT work. The only way to avoid any cable from the engine to an automatic trans is to swap to a TH400, or a 4L60E or 4L80E.
