When I gun it off the line at a stop light, my car tears right off, then around 3000 RPMS, it feels like the tranny lets go, but doesnt completely slip out of gear.
It's sluggish until the beginning of the next gear, and after 3/4 thru second, the car just doesnt want to rev. Any suggestions?

Hey, I can't say for sure that this your problem or not, but my '85 Iroc's tranny is doing exactly the same thing. I take off and it pulls good until it seems like it is almost ready to shift into 2nd then it just falls on its face until it builds up the rpms again for 3rd. I am pretty sure now that my problem is that my 2nd gear clutches are disapearing in the tranny. Probably what is wrong with yours also. It sucks to know your car has the power to go, but the tranny just won't let it when it gets going good. It almost seems to me like the car is in neutral all of a sudden and then it finally finds 3rd gear and slowly goes again.

I am not clear on these posts. Are you guys seeing the engine RPM flatten out, so it doesn't shift? Or do they overrev like it is slipping?
