Linkage cable
Not sure if this is the right spot to post this but i was needing help with the linkage cable i replaced. Everything went on well but for some reason where the cable hooks up to the shifter the little black sliding boot keeps sliding out of place and the cable is getting stuck on the housing of where it enters to go down the floor board. The cable keeps bending on it's own and is preventing the shifter from going into different gears. I can slide the boot into the housing and everything works fine but then as soon as i put everything back together the damn boot slides out and same problem orrurs. Is there something i'm not doing?

Re: Linkage cable
nope. its all good. nothing was damaged at all. Just the stupid wire that keeps bending when the car is shifted back into drive or 1st, 2nd. after that it would shift back into any higher gear. like N , R, or park.

Re: Linkage cable
You need a new cable. This happened to me because theres a little plastic peice under the rubber boot and it was broken. So it wont shift back forward, the cable just collapses. To make sure pll back that rubber boot and check if that plastic peice on the on then of that cable is not cracked
