What torque conevert is recommended for ....

a 330hp setup, 380 ft-lbs, 3.73 posi, and drag radials.
It's an auto 4L60 and I want lockup.
I was thinking of a stall around 2800-3000 would get my car out of the hole fast for some 1.8 60' times. Anybody have a good source please let me know. I want to look at ALL my options and this is a big investment so please post sources and websites. Keep in mind I'm also on a budget. The TCI converters look good but what about Hughes, aren't they better but what about cost?
Thanks guys.

call me, I am a distributor for ACT, Precision Industries, and Continental. You do not want the 12" torque converter modified to give you the stall you want they are get to slippery, especialy at the 2,800-3,00 rpm range. You will have to spend at least $535.00 for a 9.5" lockup from ACT with the stall you want. It takes about a week to have one made. If I can help give me a call at 800 7763288 Mon-Sat 11-7 PST if I can be of help?
Glad Too Help!!!

With 3.73's and 3.06 first gear ratio on the 4L60 tranny, a mild converter will get you out of the hole with a 330hp, 380lb torque 350 engine. Mainly because your overall first gear ratio is huge and your engine should put out lots of bottom end torque. 2300rpm should be plenty of rpm to give you traction problems, even with the drag radials. At most 2500rpm. A have to ease mine off the line with the same gear and tranny you have. I'm running less power(I think), and a stock converter with new soft tires and LCA relocation brackets. 11.414:1 overall first gear ratio is alot of torque multiplication. Even at 150ft lbs of torque, you put 1712ft lbs to the ground.

350 with stealth intake, holley carb, 470 lift cam. 700r4 with .5 boost valve, vette servo, tci lock-up kit, B&M megashifter. Richmond 3.73 gears, powertrax locker, timkin bearings, synthetic lube. Custom 3 inch single into 2 2.5 pipes. 1 1/2 drop springs, 1 5/16 solid front sway bar, 1 inch rear bar, custom subframe connectors, custom LCA relocation brackets. Kobel ground FX, current red metallic paint. Lots of other stuff...

Thanks, that makes sence. I didn't know exactly what kind of stall rating I wanted. I figured less than 3000 and more than 2400 was what I needed. Now you made me think about it more and it makes sence to have the stall rating around my peak torque (2600).
Thanks
