Getting 3.42

I'm getting new 3.42s for my 92 Camaro this week, I just need to know where the best place to get them(not salvage yard)and the best place to have them put in. I want a posi too, prices would be great. Thanks

Getting new???? If you have an auto matic in your 1992 Camaro you already have 3.42 gears in the rear end, if you have manual you have 3.72 gears in the rear end, if you wanting to repair your rear end, just take it in.

no way, in 1992 the 3.42 came in V6 cars and lb9 TPI 5.0 only. TBI was offered in a 2.73 auto, and a 3.08 standard. No such thing as a 3.72, and the 3.73 was stopped in 1986. ANYHOW i would say richmond is a good bet, through summit racing equipment. good luck

so much to do , so little money

So I get the posi and the gears, and i've heard everything about them, but i've never heard of exactly what they do? I've heard it all, from absolutely nothing to different machine. I'm getting the crate 350 next summer(need some cash, first semester of college goes to beer $$$) so I know I need the rear end, so I'm upgrading that first, engine next summer, by then I should have a bad *** machine, right?

thanks
Dave
