L98+ Slicks, Can the diff handle it???

My engine is fairly stock- K&N's, 24# injectors, cat-back, air foil. Can the stock rear end handle slicks??? Thanks

Check my sig! I run those times on a stock 26 spline 7.5" ten bolt!

Well let's look at it this way.... a LS1 4th gen has a 10-bolt with the exact same internals as a 3rd gen has; they run very low 13s to high 12s; I'd say that with a L98 about 1½ seconds off that pace, you're probably OK, especially with an automatic and stock converter. You've got a ways to go before you have to get really concerned.

I still use a 10 bolt. The axle tubes are welded, LPW Ultimate rear cover and 28 spline aftermarket axles but it's still a 7 5/8" ring gear.

I'm still expecting it to explode but until it does I'll keep runningit.

i snapped a stock 26 spline axle when i tried slicks.....car didnt even move enough to trip the beams... the 4th gen cars have 28 spline axles, i think theyre stronger. I probably wont attempt a slick pass again until i install my 12-bolt.
