effects of brake torquing

i know that brake torquing is real bad for the tranny and torque converter, but is it ever "OK" or "safe" to do without hurting the tranny? if someone repeatedly did it, what might begin to happen?

I do it all the time in my car, but i have a tranny cooler and a shift kit, but it is hard on the tranny because it generates high strain and lots of heat. I did 3 hugh ones on the last day of school and broke the spider gears in my rearend 1 day later. but my buddy messed up his torque converter which took out the pump in the tranny and the whole thing, pretty expensive burnouts but hey you have to have fun right
