no overdirve in my 700r4

I just did a engine swap for a "blown" v6 to a built 5.0 The old tranny was a 200 metric w/ over dirve. the new one I put in is a 700r4, now the wiring plug-in is the same but overdirve doesn't engage. the T.P.S. works fine on the carb bracket. "or it wouldn't shift" Does anybody got any ideas to get this bugger into overdrive (4th) crossing wires? w/ a switch? which wires?
other info: it's a 85' firebird w/ 305 H.O.+ 700r4 trans none computer carbed.

The L/U WON'T work W/O the computer.

The 200 w/O-D never came in an '85 so I am not sure what you had but the 700 will require two things to shift right, assuming the tranny is any good. One is the correct calibration for your combo (engine/rear axle/weight) and the correct geometry at the carb where the TV Cable hoks up. TPS has nothing to do with trans shifting in a 700.

I really didn't know what the old tranny was as long as i could use it for a core trade in but it did have O.D. For the throttle position sensor T.P.S. the new word for transmission/ throttle Valve T.V. a flash back word for the old 350 turbos. in a cable shift 700r4 with out it, it wouldn't shift @ all. but really blows my mind is, the service dept @ the tranny shop said it would shift into O.D. even with out the wiring harness attached.
This is the first time i ever used a 700 for a build up in a car/ truck. Now this tranny is rebuilt w/ b&m hot street shift kit. but I know that wouldn't have any meaning not to shift to 4th. Besides regaging the position sensor. anyone have any ideas?

The only time a 200-4R came in the Firebird was in the GTA(?) or whatever the one that got the Grand National Turbo engine. I thought thta was @'89.

G.N. was a v-6 I think it was the 231ci 3.8l
turo-charged. I thought all GTA's had 305 or 350 in them, never thought just a v-6. buddy of mine has 2 G.N.s "that dude has too much money and time on his hands"
