couple 9" rear questions
im about to order axles for a 9" very soon and i was wondering about press in vs screw in studs. im not sure but i was thinking press in like the factory studs. also would it hurt anything like the bearings or whatever if i got everything installed and sat the car back on the ground without the center section? i dont have it yet so i dont know if it would put to much of a side load on the bearings or tweak anything. first rear end ive worked with so im a bit lost

Re: couple 9" rear questions
DO NOT put the weight of the car on the axles without the center, you will bend or break things.
and you do realize that you have to put the axles in after the center is installed? why put it all together just to have to take it all apart again?
wait until you have all the parts, then put it together

ok cool, just what i needed to know, yea i know i would have to take it all back apart to put the center section back in. i was just askin because i wasnt gonna get the center section until later on since its not anywhere close to being driven and i wanted to get it off of jack stands but i guess ill go ahead and get the center section.

Re: couple 9" rear questions
Order the axles with both sets of holes in them. It's about $25 more to have them drilled for press in and screw in studs, and then you have the option to change them if you want.
