Say you were to invest a lot of time and money in building a powerful 350 and then didn't bother with touching the rear end. If you have a engine that puts out a good amount of hp (300+) and left the rear end completely stock, what would happen if you ran it hard just about every weekend and it was in really bad shape? I think this is my problem, cuz im feeling a lot of power loss from the time i first got my car to now (which is a year). What i want to know is how much power/ speed is lost from having a shot rear end with the stock gears and a performance engine.

The rear end will not absorb power. What they do, is simply grenade; usually they make noise or otherwise warn you when they're getting near that point. If your car doesn't feel as powerful then either it's not running as well as it used to, or you have just gotten used to it and now need some more power (that seems to happen to alot of us!)
