My auto is shifting way too early at WOT, I need help>>>

I don't have a Camaro or Firebird but we do share a lot of parts and this forum seems to be very knowlegable.

I have a '93 LT1 Corvette auto (THM700R4 or 4L60: non electronic tranny)

I've adjusted my t.v. cable so that my tb opens at WOT. Nothing solve but the car is faster.

I noticed that there is a cable going from the ASR motor to the transmission. There is a tab that says push. Is this the cable that determines if my car wll shift at max rpm at WOT? I've heard that the car needs to be re-weighted from a weight kit by B&M to change the shift points. But aren't the shift points set at max rpm by the factory. It's not like I want to custom pick shift points. I just want the car to scream into redline and shift. Thanks.

Right now my car is shifting at 5,000rpm at WOT. It should be shifting at 5,700rpm.

Thanks in advance.

To adjust the TV Cable skip the book method and do this: Press the D button on the adjuster and loosen the cable setting. Now, have someone floor the gas pedal while you check to see if the throttle plate is open all the way. Usually they are off a little and will wiggle. Do whatever you have to do to get it open solid. Now, with the pedal still floored, press the D button and pull the cable casing (the black tube) back as hard as you can and release the button. You now have the engine, tranny and gas pedal all in sync at WOT. Mark the cable so if for some reason it gets moved you can know where to put it again. The problem with the 'self adjust method' is that it bends things and puts them permanently out of whack. It is also the full TV setting, which is theoretically what the GM method does.

The cable you are after goes right into the tranny. Your tranny should shift higher than 5000 RPM so this should take care of it. The 'Vettes already come with the factory light weight governor.
