Difficault shift linkage
I am told the the shift linkage for an automnatic transmission is very temperamental for people who don't have much tranny experience and that if its not put on just so that the trans will quickly blow it gears is this so or is the trans guy trying to pull one over me?

If you are talking about the TV cable. Then yes, it is very important for it to be adjusted right or you will have the wrong line pressure which in time can destroy your tranny. Look at past posts about the TV cable or trannies not shifting right and read transfixleo's method of adjusting the cable.
