Is there something for the 700 R-4 to stop the early downshift at highway speeds?

Is there something for the 700 R-4 to stop the early downshift at highway speeds?

I thought I saw somewhere that there was a pice for the valve body that stopped the car from downshifting at the half throttle position. On the highway there seems to be so much gear left in overdrive...but I never get to use it cuase it downshifts at half throttle at around 80 mph

Don't get the one from summit it really does not prevent the downshift intead I would go with GM part #8673948. Actually I am installin it as soon as it arrives special order from GM dealership.

Not to call you a liar, just wondering, if it doesn't really prevent the downshift then how can B&M sell it, isn't that false advertisement. Again not saying what you said isn't true.

Let me step in here before things get out of hand. B&M and others sell a new throttle valve plunger that will SOMETIMES make a difference. You see there are a lot of different ones that have a port in SLIGHTLY different positions, meant to tailor it to the throttle position the engine will be in under different conditions. The GM valve mentioned is the police valve that truelly allows WOT 3-4 shifts. I hope this helps.

The reason I know that the B&M kit does not do the job is cuz I have it currently on my tranny and it still downshifts way to early, that is why I am going with the one from GM.
