I want to get a posi unit for my 92 rs.Jegs is saying I have a 30 spline axle but all the articles Ive read either say 26 or 28 spline axles.The question is which axle do I have?Thanks for the help!

Axle/Gears: Ford 9"/31 spline spool/4.86
You need a posi for a 7 1/2"/7 5/8" 10 bolt. There are actually 3 different sizes of GM 10 bolts. The one you have, an older but not popular 8.2" and the strongest 10 bolt is a 8.5" Those larger 10 bolts could use 30 spline axles. The 7 1/2" diff is just too small to fit a 30 spline axle into the carrier. (not that there are any 30 spline carriers for it anyway).
90 and up f-bodies all have 28 spline axles. 90-92 f-body axles will fit in all 82-92 housings that use a 28 spline carrier. 93 and up axles are 2" longer.
