I have a 88' 700r4 atuomatic transmission will i be able to swap this into a 86' camro with a automatic transmission?

 

Yes, the 88 will fit into the 86. Your speedo will be off if both cars have diferent rear end gears.

 

r u sure cuz i heard they could have a different spline (27 or 30) i need to be positive on this.

I thought 85 on up had 30 spline. If thats not the case, just swap out the yoke.

If this were the case is there anything i would have to buy. I have to full cars not just a car and a trans mission could i use the yoke off the old trans or do i have to buy one? thanx

 

Info for you.. The spline count is for the input shaft. You will have to use the newer tranny torque converter (30 spline). For the speedo, all you should have to do is take the gears out of the old tranny. You can do that by removing the housing where the cable attaches (access to the driven gear) and also the tailshaft housing (access to the drive gear. You can remove the tailshaft housing by removing the 4 bolts and there is a clip in the drive gear. Be gentle removing and installing the drive gear, they are fragile.. Everything else should botl right up.. Good luck
