Lost OD, Attn Pro-Built and others!

From a dead stop, my OD acts like it's in neutral. I have to be going at least 40mph in Drive (3rd) before I can manually shift it into 4th. Then it kicks in. Any suggestions?

I'll take a shot at it, I may be wrong but...

I think your sprag is shot. When you are in 3rd it works fine because the direct clutches are 'helping' the sprag lock, but when you are in OD, the forward clutches are not engaged and leaves all the work to the sprag.

Driving it like this puts alot of stress on those clutches and they won't last too long.

Sounds like you broke the overrun clutch hub, call me tomorrow after 11am PST (800 7763288) and I will see what needs to be done to solve /fix this.

Ditto on the sprag/hub.
I have seen several failed sprags, but the hub is just as likely.
