1-2 shift at WOT on 700R4

Car: 1985 Iroc-Z
Engine: 1 BA 305 TPI
Transmission: Probuilt 700R4 - 2800 Stall Midwest
Axle/Gears: 3.42
1-2 shift at WOT on 700R4
When I launch at the track, the car revs to about 6000-7000 before it shifts into 2nd. After about 5500 RPMs the car just stops pulling until it finally hits 2nd. What can I do to fix this?

BTW, The car is an '85 Iroc 305 TPI. I haven't done any major mods to it yet. My times at the track were all around 15.6 sec at around 88MPH. I was expecting faster.

IF the 2-3 is @5500 then it likely means that the band is in rough shape as they should e about the same RPM. If they are both that high then there is some unusual calibration problem as this is much higher than a 700 should shift.
