The tranny cable (not sure of the name) is loose and all the way backed for adjustment. Im gonna fix it, but I'm wondering if that's why it's not hitting OD. It goes through to third, just shift's too late because it's not adjusted, I have a non-lockup converter so it's killing me.
Oh, and it used to work fine, after the engine swap this happened.
Thanks,
Scott

Too much power with the new engine. Tranny is going to come out. Very common brake, just do a search and you'll see.
The question should be "how can I prevent loosing overdrive" when I re-build the tranny? I wish I new. I have the same problem and it's killing me on gas.

possible the sunshell broke inthe trans. happened to me. i was driving along, suddenly BAM!!! dropped out of OD would not go back in. trans slipped from first to second also.
I was driving around yesterday and I remembered the last car the trans was in, wouldn't go into OD until the trans reached it's normal operating temp. Yesterday, it reached that for an hour or 2 and it still wouldn't kick into it. It spins into second and chirp's third. Im gonna take it to a tranny shop and see if it's something they can fix, the guy who built it was such a BS artist, he ****ed me good on the trans and stole my brand new tci 2600 stall converter and replaced it with a lower quality 2400 stall one. It figures that 6 months after that, I pulled the tranny and found that converter, went looking for him and his shop in the ghetto closed down.. He did something messed up to the trans, it shifts hard, but the only way to race it is to manualy shift it. If you leave it in D, or OD and goose it, it just shifts at 4k and into third gear at about 3500, no adjustments change this.
Anyways, I was hoping it was something as simple as the detent cable not being adjusted right, but I guess no such luck, eh?
