Screaching noise on acceleration from front of trans
I have a Pro Built 700R4 that is about nine years old and has less than 40,000 miles on it- I swapped from a 12" 2200 stall non lockup ACT converter to a used but cleaned out by a trans shop 10" ATI.
It proved to be way too loose, worked great in MW66Nova's lighter vehicle with a higher revving engine and 4;56 gears, but in my S10 with a 355 that peaks at 5200 with a 3.73 gear it was too loose, flashes to 4100.
After a day at the track with the exhaust uncorked and having some fuel system problems causing it to not run well, I recorked it and headed home- when you stab the pedal and flash or slip the converter hard, there is a distinct screaching noise coming from the front pump area of the trans. Ease away from a traffic light and it' quiet.
I want to pull the pump and look at it when I pull the trans- is there anything in particular I should look for? The trans shifts fine and has not other problems I know of.
