The shifter will not slide over the right if i am stopped or playing with the shifter. i can only go into 5th then 6th if i am doing about 50 mph and i go from 4th to 5th. if i pull the shifter out of 5th or 6th then i cannot get it to go back in or even slide over to the right, also have no reverse either.

 

Sounds like the clutch isn't disengaging completely. I had a clutch that wasn't disengaging at ALL, yet on jackstands I was able to get 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and reverse. Could not get it into 5th or 6th period.

How does it shift with the motor off? (don't forget you really gotta shove to the right to get it far enough for reverse...)

 

it has nothing to do with the clutch. i still cant get it to shift with the car off. it basically feels like a 4 speed

 

My next guess is bent shift fork...

 

is that something i can see without taking the tranny out
