I want to swap out my 3:27 gear ratio for 3:73, I have the rat 9 bolt, gotta swap the rears with a 10 bolt from a camaro 88 only I believe. Any suggestions?

 

As I understand it, gears between a 9- and 10-bolt won't swap.

That's right, they won"t, so the only way to upgrade the gear ratio is to change out the complete rear correct? I am looking for a 10 bolt rear that can accept 3:73 gears,from another firebird or camaro, how am I doing?

Why not just put a set of 3.70 gears in the 9 bolt?

I've got a disc brake 10 bolt that I could build if you are interested. It will need all new parts inside, but you would almost have a new rear end.
