speedometer drive mismatch

im about to buy an 87 iroc but the speedometer doesnt work.
the guy im getting it from said the tranny(t-5) has been replaced from another iroc, but its speedo is electronically driven while the car's is mechanical.
whats the best/cheapest way to remedy this?

it also needs to be rebuilt(just worn synchro rings and bearings), which i will be doing with the help of my cousin.
how much is a decent kit for this?

oh and does the tranny having an electronically driven speedo mean anything?
like it is the world class t-5 or something?

Purchase a sleeve and the correct drive and/or drive gear for your gear ratio. See the T-5 sticky above. The electronic version would be the so-called world class.

Call these guys and they'll get you set-up for the correct drive and/or drive gears.
