hard shifting with manual transmission

i changed my transmission fluid because my speedo cable was leaking. i put in a 50/50 mixture of 80w-90 gear oil and atf. ever since then the thing is wicked tough to shift in most all the gears. it is the t-5 transmission with a hurst shift kit. is there something wrong with my transmission or should i be using another type of fluid in the transmission.

i also have a problem with my car shaking when in gear. i think it is the drive shaft being out of balance now. i put a 99 camaro rear end on my car with 11inch wheels and 1" spacers. in march i put the car into a tree rear end first and since then i have changed the rear out of the car and put in the 4th gen. most noticeable when driving normal speeds but it doesnt happen all the time. when i drive about 90-110 the car has a slight but hard vibration. it is hard to explain unless you are riding in the car. would putting the new rear end on wrong cause this. the left side sticks out an extra 1/4-1/2" out more than the right tire but i think this happens when you bolt in a 4th gen on a 3rd gen.

any suggestions for the difficult shifting or the vibration is helpful
thanks

Re: hard shifting with manual transmission

IIRC you are supposed to use ATF only. The gear oil can cause the hard shifting.

atf only . on all my cars with std. tranny's one of the first things is a full fluid change . regular atf for a month or so . then change to B&M trick-shift synthetic . anyway thats just me , i believe in synthetics . i'm a retired acft. mech. , has always worked for me . good luck .

Re: hard shifting with manual transmission

when i was doing my search for this a few months ago i saw that switching from regular to synthetic is a bad idea because the change to synthetic will cause leaks. im going to try the atf tomorrow. thanks
