Advice on Pinion and Gear change (iwent from3.08 to 2.73)

Today i worked all day in my car
Mission: ..Replace the broken pinion and Gear
I had just one choice cause i had a 7.5 rear from a 78 malibu so i thought i must replace all the inner parts .....
thats what i did but here i found the Problem
When i was installing the Drive pinion it had too much play with the Driveshaft Yoke ...the problem was that i was using the Malibu Drive pinion Bearing and it does not fit so i Used all the malibu parts BUT DONT EVER USE the bearing from another car
You have to use the Pinion bearing that originally cae with your car
WELL MAYBE YOU ALL KNOW THIS but im givin advice cause there is a lot of peolple that maybe doesnt know this and so they will be prepared
2 PART :
Yeah i know you all will say hey from 3.08 to 2.73 ?
Oh man that was the only 7.5 that i can found here cause im From Chile and let me tell you that i dont really felt the difference but when i was cruisin about 50MPH the car feel better ...Something like an Overdrive feeling ...and of course my RPMS were less than the 3.08
well what comments or sugerences ?
Oh ..i noticed a rare sound (like a chainsaw but not too loud)from my rear end later ...maybe the gears are gettin used to their new home ...i hope
Thanks

Well, if you are doing a lot of highway driving the 2.73s will be a better fit for you.

2.73s on a 700r4 are like 3.23s on any other GM transmission.
