Hi, this is my first post and am pretty new to this site and Camaro's in general. So, I've been all over the internet trying to find an answer to my issue. I have a 92 Z28 305 w/Auto 700r4 and it stalls when put in gear and the brakes are applied and I am frustrated trying to figure it out.

My symptoms are as idles smooth at 750-800rpms and I can shift into gear from a cold start and usually drive it till I have to stop but once I stop it stalls like it ran out of gas. It will also stall if its coasting at low rpms. I can get it to restart and drive it if I give it gas immediately after shifting into gear. It restarts and idles fine it every situation but will constantly die at a stop.

I have checked the fuel pump (pressure and functionality), EGR solenoid, tcc solenoid,vacuum leaks, injectors, injector wires, and fluid levels. I have replaced the fuel filter and torque converter with no change.

I have seen to check the IAC, TPS and distributor but have not yet. If anyone has any suggestions, I am open to anything. Please help me save my Z :-(

I see your post from 2015, and reminds me of a distributor problem. My 91 rs with 305 and 700r4 had same symptoms. turns out the dist. vanes had rusted and 4of 8 hadbroken off inside cap. replaced and retimed dist. ran great and no more stallouts. hope you found a fix. horneytoad

I did actually figure out the problem...it ended up being the intake gasket was bad. I did try replacing the cap and resetting the timing before I did the gasket. So far car has been running good except for EGR is setting off the SES light.
