I recently found a wrecked 92 z28 and the guy said it has posi. I really want posi because I am tired of running one tire out before the other. Could I take the posi unit from the z28 and just put it in my car? Would I have to change my gears as well? And is this a hard job to do? Thanks if anyone can help!

swap the ring gear from your car onto the posi carrier install it and chack for proper back lash and you'll be set.

If the gears in his rear are acceptable to you, change out the whole rear. Much, much easier.

Besides, if your gears are a different "series" than his (as in one a 2-series and the other a 3-series), the gears won't swap between the carriers, anyway.
