Shifting and revving odd
Well, i have been getting pretty poor mileage these last few months. about 11 mpg. (pretty poor for my 305 TPI)
i notice when im driving, the transmission doesn't seem to be shifting right, it kind of feels like it's been slipping a bit, when i give it some gas, i feel some odd slippage, then the car finally starts to pickup and move with *****, but by then im revving fairly high (5K+)
I just adjusted my TV cable per the tech articles here in the forum. I have fiddled with it before, but it doesn't seem to do much.
Another odd thing, if i floor it in drive or OD, once i reach a point where it should shift to second, i see my rpm's drop a few thousand, but don't hear or feel any transmission thunk into second gear, then i feel a hard shift as the rpms rise a bit, into what im figuring is third gear. Does anything think this could be a TV problem? or is it more likely that second gear is blown?
Thanks for any suggestions. My naughty car is trying to make me even more broke again.
