t5 conversion kit
t5 conversion kit
not to be the 1x10^45678th person to ask, but anybody here use a kit to do the fabled t5 into auto f-body swap? If so, where did you go to get it? Because I'm not finding too much on the net and it looks more expensive then I'd like. (then again, so are movie tickets). Anyway any info would be nice.

I bought a kit from a guy that was parting out a Camaro. Basically, I got everything that I needed from him. Go to a junk yard, and if you think that you probably won't need it, you actually will.
If you have a 700R4 then you won't need a drive shaft, ,torque arm, and cross member, but you'll need all of this:
tranny, bellhousing, flywheel, flywheel bolts, hydrolic clutch, pedals, shifter boot.
Get a new clutch, and if you can also get a new flywheel. If you can't, then have the old one resurfaced. There are two different bolt patterns for the flywheel though. The one piece rear main seal blocks that started in '86 and the earlier, two piece rear main.
I just finished this swap.

I have a complete T5 setup. It's a NWC T5. I just rebuilt it and put it in my Camaro. I'm going back to the TH350 for racing. Tranny is excellent, has about 700 miles on the rebuild. I'll sell it all for $700 plus shipping. Also comes with a Centerforce Dual friction clutch and pressure plate. Everything is in excellent condition.
