I have an 88 Camaro IROC-Z 350 TPI with a 700r4. The car has been sitting for several years. I got it running and put in fresh tranny fluid and a filter. Also, I noticed the TV cable was not attached, so I rigged it with some wire and adjusted the cable. Here is what happened: until today, the car would shift into first and second, but then wouldn't shift into third, the RPMs would just shoot up. Now, the car seems to be stuck in park. I can move the shifter, but reverse, neutral, overdrive, drive, 1, and 2: none will engage. Anyone have any ideas? Could these two problems be related?
