pop and jerk when floored in low??

I have an 84 z28 i just picked up.
Car is running out really well, but just noticed that if
you put it in low gear and floor the gas pedal from
dead stop there is a pretty loud pop coming from under
the car between the rear and the transmission.
I have only done it once so i can't tell the exact location
but I can feel it with my hand on the console.

Any ideas what this could be?
I really don't know anymore than I am telling,but
It kinda feels like something may be loose and when
it gets in a bind it slaps against something else?
I think the car has positive traction from the way
it feels,but can't be sure.

I hate to keep asking so many questions, but I am just
getting the 3rd. generation bug and haven't had these
problems before.

I am also the guy asking about swapping the 89 automatic
steer column to a 92 5-speed?

I don't really know what board to post this to,so i will try here.

I have a 92 5-speed v8.
Can I take a steering column out of an 89 automatic and swap it to my 92 5-speed?
I will also have to change out the key portion of the switch.
The key is missing from the 89,so i was just gonna use my key part of the 92 column.
Will this all work ok in my 1992 camaro?

I was not sure where to post this question so I will post it here and there, everywhere?

Thank you all for the help.
I am really getting down in the dumps over not being able to drive my stick shift.
It is my favorite car and I keep having bad luck with it.

Thanks for any info on this swap,
jd

I am by no means an expert. However, I would guess that it is a worn tranny or torque arm bushing.

Very worn, or a broken trans mount.

yep, check the tranny mount, the noise you could be hearing is the tranny hitting the floor. Thats what it was on mine.
