700R4 and rubbing alcohol
has anyone ever heard of putting a bottle of rubbing alcohol into the tranny to relieve a stuck valve? If so, is it true?

Yes cause it will just evaporates with heat; seafoam has a trans additive like that. Suppoe to clena then go away.
WARNING
After adding it my front trans seal leaked like a terrorist who took a .50 round in the chest.
The next day and after, it never leaked a drop again.
Scared the **** out of me though.

That kind of stuff sucks to see, I do mean it in jest. Never seen a 50 but a shotgun blast from about 8in away into a chest. & I figure about the same leakage wise in a funny way when you desensitize it with the word terrorist but in reality its god awful to see happen to anyone.
Does it manually shift fine on it own? Go up n down the gears on your own from a stop. If so that can mean its just sticky, how mine was, manually shifted just fine, and never slipped, but didn't want to shift on its own all the time.

Re: 700R4 and rubbing alcohol
Nope. Im about to spray some WD-40 onto the "D" push button. See when I adjust the TV cable and open up the throttle, there is no click as in the "ratch sound" of the adjuster sliding out. Now as for shifting, when at a dead stop, I give it gas until the engine is at high revs, about 5,000 or more RPMs then itll shift into third after about 2 seconds of holding the pedal at high RPM's. It will not shift into OD. I tested out 2nd, no dice (stayed at high revs), so then I shift to 3rd, good, but when I shift to OD , nothing. So my uncle told me to pour a bottle of alcohol to see if itll looen up anything inside the tranny. Problem is that I already injected a bottle of Lucas tranny additive (boy is that stuff thick, like cold pancake syrup). The tranny is beginning to leak fluid from what I believe is the tranny. So is it wise to pour in the bottle even though there is that thick a** Lucas additive?

Re: 700R4 and rubbing alcohol
Yea pour it in.
Hehehe I did all that too, same order, lucas, seafoam, then a trans fluid n filter change; it started to get better but I ended up getting a new trans built as I had just backed out of buying a car, well worth sending Discover $35 a month
A shift kit n higher stall TC makes me giggle sometimes as its just to much fun. I do now want a bit more stall and a smaller TC though.
[2200 12in now, 25-2800 10in plz]
Smaller the TC, the more torque mulitplication you get.
Just member they get hotter being smaller so a bigger trans cooler is needed.
