I have been searching for a donor car to do a t-5 swap with my 92 RS. I have ran out of time almost. I have been informed tonight that I can use a 4th gen V6 t-5. They said that everything will interchange. Is this true? Can I really use a 4th gen V6 t-5 to do my swap? If this is true what else will I need to get shifter plate, rear end, drive shaft? Please help. Thanks.

 

I think that v6's are still 10 spline...you need a 26 spline.

82-02 f-bodies all use the same size driveshaft.
I don't know what you mean by a rear end needed?? why would you need that? are you asking if you need to do a gear swap.....no.

 

The V8 auto have 2.73 gears and a V8 manuel has 3.08 gears. So the v6 wont work, and I need to keep looking.

 

well, not always.....there are different rear end gears in different cars....mine is a v8 auto and came with 3.23 gears.

 

So do I need to look for a v8 82-92 fbody?

 

for the tranny, you could do t5 from 82-92.....90-92 a little stronger (world class t5).
93-97 T56 six speed
TKO tremec 5 speed
ST-10 four speed

any of these will work. Some are direct bolt in....some require a little more time and money. stock t5 the cheapest.
