What rear axle should we run?

We picked up an 87 LT that we will be stuffing a centrifical supercharged 377 in, around 600 hp or so. We have a 700R4 set up for this but rear axle is the question. I had the 377/700R4 setup in my Monza TC years back and ended up with a narrowed Dana 44 but it's to narrow now and I don't think that it would hold for the camaro as there is more tire/pounds.
Can get a Fo** 9 in made for bolt in from Jegs and allready have a 3.50 geared trutrac center section. My son, however won't abide having non chev parts unless absolutly neccesary. Any Ideas anyone?

Thanks in advance!

There are 12 bolt rears for the 3rd gen. And you can tell your son that there is not a single FORD part on any aftermarket 9" rear, everything is manufactured by the aftermarket. Ofcoures the same goes for the 12", not a single bit of real GM in there.

There are bolt in 12 bolt, Dana 60 and 9 inch Ford rear ends for these cars. You could also try to find a Dana 44. There were some of these made, but they are kind of rare. The Moser 12 bolt starts at about $2225. You can get a Moser 9 inch housing and axle package for $990.

Tell him he's an idiot. If he only wants Chev parts, he's limited to a weak factory 10 bolt or an aftermarket 12 bolt. The factory also supplied a slightly stronger 9 bolt but it's not a chevy part. It's made by Borg Warner in Australia. Same goes for the rare Dana 44. An aftermarket 9" or Dana 60 is in name only. You can have a complete aftermarket diff and not have a single OEM part in it.
