Car: 84 Trans am
Engine: 355
Transmission: TH400
Axle/Gears: 343 rear end
Th 400 TV Cable help..
now, im very new to automatic trannys and have a th 400.. what i need to know is about the kickdown cable/ Throttle valve cable if absolutely need it to move or if i can rig it somehow so i can still go? btw its an older rebuilt th400.. like '85

You'll need the cable to automatically downshift when you step on the gas, but it's not as critical to the operation of the transmission like a 700R4 TV cable is.

That's right, when i read cable I started thinking of the TH350. The TH400 uses an electric kickdown switch.
