T-56 into 84 Camaro// Clutch Pedal setup
T-56 into 84 Camaro// Clutch Pedal setup
I will be installing a LT-1 T-56 out of a 1996 Z-28 into a 84 Camaro. I know the bell housing will bolt up to my 2 piece rear main seal SB motor just need to work on the clutch pedal setup. Will the pedals out of the LT-1 93-97 LT-1 Camaros work in the 3rd generation cars? Or do I have to use the 82 to 92 clutch pedals and fabricate up the slave cylinder for the throw out bearing in the T-56?
I saved this car from the crusher and plan to make it a cruiser. A nice new 400 HP SB and a 6 speed transmission should make this 84 Camaro into something worth driving.
Glad I found a 3rd generation board for the Camaros, lots of good information here, houstonvett

There is a ton of info on this swap regarding the questions you have on this board. Search for T56 pedals. The general opinion seems to be that if you are using the LT1 T56 then the 4th gen pedals work best.

Ive done the swap so i have personal experience. The 4th gen pedals will work, but you need to do some cutting and they will not work as well as the original 3rd gen pedals. I used the 3rd gen pedals and its alot better feel than the 4th. I swapped mine from an auto to t56.
EDIT: also you will need the $pecial centorforce flywheel so everything will bolt up. Cant use the lt1 flywheel on a 2 piece. And dont forget to get the t56 or t5 tourqe arm mount.
