Questions bout Midwest fab 9"

This summer im looking to purchase a midwest fab 9" and i have a few questions bout what i should ask them over the phone? I have a 86 trans am and im putting in a 383 stroker in with around 450hp, and i want the car to be a street/strip car. What gears should i run? Are 373's what im looking for or 410's the way to go. Also im going to be running 10.5" drag radials what length rear should i ask for? if there are any more questions im looking over please fill me in.

Thanks, Gary

Re: Questions bout Midwest fab 9"

With a 10.5" tire, I would think the stock length would be fine. What trans are you using? This would determine what gear to go with if you care about not spinning high RPM's on the street. I had a TH350 in my Camaro with 3.50 gears and thats as high as I would want with no overdrive. Now I'm putting a 6 speed in and I really want 4.11's

yeah with the 700r4, the 3.73s should work out nice for ya for both cruising and strip. Do you know what your power range of your cam is? You want to match your stall with your cam. The higher ur stall is, it may be faster off the start but will ruin street-ability.

The 700r4 is a good street trans. Great for cruising cuz of overdrive. 11's might be pushing it in the 1/4 mile. I'd be happy if you were in the 12's. But i also don't no how light your car is, how sticky ur tires are, what all your mods are going to be, etc...

I'm running a 355 sbc with a 700r4 with 3.73s also. Im pushing about 375hp or so.New rear suspension (track arm, lower control arms, better shocks, and sway bar) I just have my 10 bolt but it works for now. Nothing crazy for tires, just something that spins nice and easy on the gears. Anyways on a good day im in the 13s in the quarter. Its my cruiser and im only 19, so it can still get me in plenty of trouble so im happy!
