The cable bolts on to the outside of the trans. Dropping the pan wouldnt help you at all. It is right in front of the dipstick. You "MAY" have to put a jack under the trans mount and unbolt the crossmember to let the trans hang down. I could get to mine without doing this but it was tight. Its just a single bolt that you take out.

Yes I know that but at the end of the cable there is a little eyelit that connenects to a hook inside of the transmission. I need to take one off and re-install a new one. I've done it on my 700r4 but i dropped the pan to do so.

Oh, yeah to change the actuall metal piece the pan would have to come off. I've never done that. I thought you just need to get the cable off which you can do with the pan on. The same way you would take the TV cable off a 700R4. To be clear though, the eyelet of the cable will come off the metal piece in the trans with the pan on.

Ok i have another question, I have a b&m changer over bracket on my th350 and i'm trying to figure out how I reuse my mount/bushing off my old 700r4. The directions show it attched but the rubber piece looks like it is riveted to the existing 700r4 mount. Do i have to but a new rubber mount or how do i get the one off my existing 700r4 mount? Please help!?! thanks in advance

Not sure exactly what your talking about. Do you mean the torque arm mount? If so, the factory rubber bushing is riveted to the metal bracket. The easiest way to get them off is an air hammer.
